The map includes locations of vessels and ocean disposal sites (under a permit) between 2006 and 2017. Data for ocean disposal sites were obtained from CFR (40 CFR 228.15) and reviewed by EPA Regional Offices. Vessel disposal data under the MPRSA general permit (40 CFR 229.3) were obtained from EPA Regional Offices. The vessel disposal data are required to be reported to EPA Regional Offices when any person uses the Marine Protection, Research, and Sanctuaries Act (MPRSA) general permit for the transportation and disposal of vessels. This information is also reported to the International Maritime Organization in the annual United States' Ocean Dumping Report, which EPA develops with ACE. Methods are accurate to within 1 meter<\/span>
